Step 7 - Celebrate your Successes
Christmas has been and go, so if you haven’t done the last six steps, now is your time to take action, do them and to get ready for the year ahead. If you have completed your last six steps, the seventh one is to congratulate yourself and know you are one step ahead of closer to an even more successful 2012. If you haven’t completed the steps, make it your mission to schedule some time this week to do it. Remember a good idea is only an idea until it’s actioned upon. Once you start, it really doesn’t take that long.
You might have heard the story of the frog on the lilypad? There were six frogs sitting on a lilypad. One decided to jump. How many were left?
Six - as the frog only decided. He didn’t actually take the action and jump! So if you want more success in 2012, don’t be a frog and just sit there, be an action taker and take action!
Remember your goals, your dreams, your “I AM” statements that I suggested you wrote in the last step, and make sure these are written down somewhere you can see them. Review them and say your “I AM “ statements often. One thing I do for my clients is to record a CD specifically for them, which takes into account their goals, their actions, thoughts and beliefs necessary to achieve this. They then have another powerful tool to help them achieve their goals, and by listening to it often, becomes entrenched into their neurology and becomes a part of them. A great recipe for success. Feedback has been great, and even more important so have the results! Let me know if you would like this special goal setting and achieving session.
Your last step - go and do a random act of kindness. This time of year in particular, there is a lot of stress and loneliness around. It is very busy on the roads and chaos in the shopping centres! So, whether it’s giving way to another driver, pedestrian, or topping up someone’s parking meter, calling a friend or checking in on a neighbour, just do one thing.
If we all did one small random act of kindness every day for the rest of the year think of the difference it would make. Remember the ripple effect. It might even become a habit for 2012! Now wouldn’t that be good in this ever increasing disconnected world?
Until next time, remember Your Mindset Matters!
